Five on Friday

Today I decided I’d start doing five on Friday. (Inspired by my favorite blog Where I post five things I love right now, five things I did this week, or five of anything in general really.

If you know me on a personal level, you know how much I love books. Reading them, sharing Facebook posts about them, keeping track of them on Goodreads, and so on and so forth. So today I decided I’d share five of my favorite quotes from books I’ve read.

1. “Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor.” – The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins
2. “Secrets are like stars. They blaze inside the heart and ultimately could be explosive. But there are two types of secrets. Small secrets, like small stars, will eventually burn out. With time and space they lose their importance and simply vanish. No harm done. But big secrets, like massive stars, with time and constant fear grow stronger, creating a gravitational pull that eventually … When they get so big, they become a black hole.” Lipstick Apology, Jennifer Jabaley
3. “You don’t love someone because they’re perfect, you love them in spite of the fact that they’re not.” My Sister’s Keeper, Jodi Picoult
4. As he read, I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.” The Fault in Our Stars, John Green5. “Music is a total constant. That’s why we have such a strong visceral connection to it, you know? Because a song can take you back instantly to a moment, or a place, or even a person. No matter what else has changed in you or the world, that one song stays the same, just like that moment.” Just Listen, Sarah Dessen
